You’re Not Busy. You’re Just Never Present (And It’s Draining You)

You wake up.
Check your phone.
Rush through getting ready.
Eat quickly. Scroll again.
Move to the next thing.
And by the end of the day, you feel… tired.
Not because you did too much.
But because you were never really there.
We say we’re busy.
But most of the time, we’re just distracted.
Your body is in one place.
Your mind is somewhere else.
While eating, you’re thinking about work.
While working, you’re thinking about something else.
While resting, you’re scrolling.
Nothing gets your full attention.
And slowly, without realizing it—life starts feeling fast.
But life isn’t fast.
Your attention is scattered.
That’s why even simple things feel exhausting.
Not because they are hard—
but because you’re never fully inside them.
Try to remember the last time you did something slowly.
Without rushing.Without thinking about the next thing.
It’s rare, isn’t it?
We’re not losing time.
We’re losing presence.
And without presence, even a full day feels empty.
So maybe the question isn’t:
“Why am I so busy?”
Maybe it’s:
When was the last time I was truly present?
