  • Practice Mindful Walking: When you walk, notice how your feet touch the ground and the sounds around you. This helps me feel more connected to my surroundings.

  • Connect with Loved Ones: Engage in conversation with family or friends without the distraction of screens. Offer a compliment or express genuine interest in their day’s experiences.


Making Everyday Activities Special

Mindfulness can turn boring tasks into enjoyable moments. For example, when I do the dishes, I try to focus on the warm water and the bubbles. It can be relaxing and gives me a sense of accomplishment. You can do the same with chores or errands by being present and appreciating the experience. When I brush my teeth using an electric brush, I focus on enjoying the buzzing sound of the brush and feel happy. When I am waiting for the lift, I try to play with my mind, count the number of seconds/minutes it will take for the lift to come to the floor. This keeps me diverted from my regular work and provides me with a much-needed break.
