We usually think of the food chain in a simple way. Something eats something else. And at the top, nothing eats us. We assume we’re in control. But that’s only true physically. There’s another version of it. Less visible. More relevant. In this one, nothing is eating our body. But a lot of things are consuming our time, our attention, and our mental space. Look at a normal day. You pick up your phone for a minute. It turns into thirty. You buy something you don’t really need
